We believe that homework is important independent practice and review of what students are learning in school. It is essential to take homework seriously and to complete all tasks in a timely manner. This allows students the opportunity to practice responsibility outside of school.
Students are expected to read 20-30 minutes each night. In addition to their reading, there will typically be 30 minutes of other homework tasks. This could include math study links, math fact practice, projects, studying for unit tests, or other curricular tasks. Please be aware that there may be more unit projects and/or tests at the end of quarters.
We value and appreciate a strong partnership between school and home. You can help us foster this by providing a quiet area to complete homework at a consistent time. Parents are not expected to help their child with homework, but may provide support as needed. If your child is struggling to independently complete a task, please let us know and encourage your child to seek help from his or her homeroom teacher before school or at recess.
Please look for homework assignments and additional messages to be recorded daily in your child’s assignment notebook.
Thank you for your time and support!
